The following is a sample menu of Greek Food and Pastries from our Annual Festival. Availability of each item is subject to change.

Greek Food Features

NOTE: Dinners (**) served with Rice Pilaf & Greek Style Green Beans

Spanakopita (spa-nah-KO-peeta)
Many thin layers of filo dough filled with spinach, feta cheese, romano cheese, eggs and baked to a firm consistency.

Pastichio (pah-STEE-cho)
Alternated layers of macaroni, grated cheese, and sauteed ground beef, topped with a rich cream sauce and baked.

Dolmathes (dole-MAH-thes) - Stuffed Grape Leaves
A special meat-rice-and-herb mixture wrapped in marinated grape leaves and simmered in a flavored broth.

**Fish Plaki (plah-KEE) NOTE: Friday Only
Baked fillets of cod delicately seasoned with vegetaables in a tomato sauce.

**Leg of Lamb (one of the four major meat groups. The other three: Gyros, Souvlakia, and Lamb on the spit...)
Lean, tender, well-marinated baked lamb prepared Greek-style.

**Lamb Stew (with rice pilaf only)
Lamb meat with vegetables in a delicious tomato wine sauce.

**½ Oven Roasted Chicken (TSEE-ken...)
Chicken marinated in butter, lemon and oregano, then baked to a golden brown.

Souzoukakia with Rice (sue-zoo-KIKE-ya)
Greek Meatballs slowly simmered in a tomato-wine sauce, served with rice.

Rice Pilaf
Steamed rice with butter and chicken broth.

Greek-Style Green Beans
Green Beans with a Greek-style tomato sauce.

Greek Salad (sah-LAH-tah)
Salad greens, tomato, Greek olives, and Feta cheese.

Gyro (YEE-ro) - available outside
Sliced gas-fired spit-roasted lamb, onions, tomatoes, shredded lettuce, with a delicious cucumber sauce. A Greek favorite!


Greek Pastries

Baklava (bach-lah-VAH)
Chopped walnuts, cinnamon, and many thin layers of filo dough, baked to a golden brown and drenched with honey syrup.

Karithopita (kah-ree-THOUGH-peeta) - Walnut Cake
A dark, rich chopped walnut cake soaked in honey syrup.

Galatobouriko (gah-lah-tow-BOO-ree-ko)
Delicately flavored custard baked in filo dough dipped in honey syrup.

Kataifi (Kah-tah-EE-fee)
Chopped nuts layered between a shredded dough, brushed with melted butter, baked and soaked in honey syrup.

Kourambiethes (Kou-rahm-bee-E-thes)
Greek butter cookie topped with powdered sugar.

Finikia (fee-NEEK-yah)
Moist oval cinnamon cookies dipped in honey syrup and sprinkled in ground walnuts.

Pineapples (okay, so not everything has a Greek name...)
Dough filled with pineapple and sprinkled with powered sugar.

Apithakia (ah-pee-THAHK-yah) - Pear Cookies
Pear-shaped cookies filled with nuts and dipped in a light honey syrup.

Halva (hall-VAH)
Farina cake with nuts and honey.

Koulourakia (kou-lou-RAK-yah)
Buttery twisted coffee cookies found at all Greek festivities.

Loukoumathes (lou-kou-MAH-thes) - Available outside
Fluffy and light fried honey puffs, served warm with syrup and sprinkled with cinnamon.

Diples (DEEP-less – that’s a Greek “D”, not an English “D”...)
Delicate pastry dough, lightly fried and rolled, then drizzled with syrup and nuts.
